Navigation
System
This is the
means by which people navigate around your site, normally a button menu
like the one at the top of this page. If your site consists of only four
pages the
navigation system will initially be quite simple but we will design a
system that can
easily be expanded if and when your site grows. Once your order is received
we will
send you our configuration form, which guides you through each step of
providing
us with the information we'll need to build your site.
When creating a site we will create a "Look and Feel" for your
site which accurately portrays the type of business you are
running. You tell us the message you want to get across, be
it you are traditional, well-established, modern, low-cost,
cutting-edge etc. The configuration form takes you through specific
questions that help us create the right "Look and Feel" for
your site.
Web
Pages
The package includes the production of four A4 pages of information about
your
company, these might typically be, but are not limited to:
- Home Page - The initial introduction page.
- About Us - A more in-depth description of your company.
- Our Services - A description of the services you offer.
- Contact
Us - Your contact details and often a form where visitors
to the site
can provide feedback.
You provide
the text for what you want to say on each page, our configuration form
gives you guidance so you include all the relevant information. It also
gives you the option to
add additional pages at a known cost.
The package includes up to two images per page.
These can be images supplied on disk (the configuration form
gives details of the file formats we can accept), we
can scan photographs or clear line-work originals you
supply. We also have a range of quality clip art items
which can be included from your image allowance.
We can include custom logos and library photography
as an extra-cost option if required.
Interactive
Form
Your site can include a form, if required, for capturing information from
visitors to your
site. You stipulate what information you want on the form. The standard
price includes
up to 10 fields. The data can be validated, ie Name, e-mail address and
telephone
number might be required entries. Visitors will receive a professional
"thank you" screen
summarising the infomation they have submitted and the data from the completed
form
will automatically be forwarded to you by e-mail.
Domain
Name
It is essential for a business to use it's own domain name for both e-mail
and your
web site. For example www.yourcompany.co.uk
instead of www.abcinternet.co.uk/
yourcompany. The reason is you then own the address and can transfer
it from one
provider to another. If you use the domain of your Internet Service Provider
(ISP)
you are "locked in" as you will be marketing an address that
can only be used while
you are their client. Little Pages includes a FREE
.co.uk domain with every web design
package. You can have a .com domain for a small extra charge. If you already
own a
domain, you can transfer it to us and use it for your website. Our order
form gives
full details about choosing your domain.
Once your site is designed, you need to make it available
for people to view on the internet. This is called hosting.
12 months hosting is included within your package. See our
Hosting section for more details on the HostPlus account which is included. In addition to the hosting we will supply
10 e-mail accounts for use with your domain name. You can
either collect mail from these accounts directly or we can
arrange for them to forward to another address. For example,
mail sent to john@yourcompany.co.uk could be forwarded to
john24@yourisp.co.uk
Promoting
Your Site
Your web site will automatically be submitted
to over 300 search engines. We will also
include keywords within your site coding that will assist the search engines
in
categorising your pages. Making the most of the search engines is a task
in itself, our
Web Marketing service assists you in improving
your search engine positioning.
Maintaining
Your Site
Four minor changes to the site are included within the first year. This
would include
modification of a sentance, a change to pricing etc. If you require additional
pages
to be added or changes to style and layout of existing pages, this is
charged
additionally.
You can take
over the management of your site at
any time if required, our hosting service allows us to
provide you with password protected access to your
area of the server. We will keep a back-up of the site
at the point where you take over management and
can restore to this point if required at some time in
the future.
Once the
order form is completed and all the required
items (text, photos, deposit
etc.) have been received, your site will normally be up and running within
four
weeks. We look forward to helping your business branch out online.
